Warrenton and Fauquier County offer residents and visitors a wide variety of interesting and entertaining activities. The most popular destination is Old Town Warrenton with its historic buildings, charming restaurants, retail shops and Jail Museum.

             

 

 

 Warrenton-Fauquier County Visitor Center

The Warrenton-Fauquier County Visitor Center is located at 33 North Calhoun Street, in Historic Old Town Warrenton.   Telephone: (540) 341-0988, (800) 820-1021.

Information about events and attractions in Warrenton and Fauquier County is available at the Visitor Center, which is open 7 days each week from 9a.m. to 5p.m.

 

 Warrenton's Farmers Market

Celebrating 33 Seasons! 

 

      It’s that time of year again, when locally grown and produced agricultural products are made available at the Warrenton Farmers Market.   The 2008 Season begins on April 12th for our Saturday Market and continues through November 29th.   The Saturday Market will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 12 noon and will be held in the municipal parking lot  at the corner of Lee Street 5th Street.  

     The Wednesday Market began April 16th and continues until October 29th and is located at the Branch Street entrance of the Warrenton Shopping Center located at 251 W. Lee Highway.  Hours of operation will be 7 a.m. until 1 PM.

     Vendors interested in participating as a Part-Time or Seasonal Vendor in the Warrenton Farmers Market should contact Mickey Rhoades, Market Manager for the Town Of Warrenton, at 18 Court Street or by phone at (540) 347-2405. 

     Come and join us celebrate the fruits, vegetables, flowers and other locally grown or made products of the 2008 Warrenton Farmers Market Season at our Wednesday and Saturday Markets!

Fauquier Veterans Memorial

Hunt Country
Fauquier County lies in the center of Virginia's "Horse Country." With an estimated 5,000 horses, the county hosts a variety of equestrian events year-round. Large thoroughbred breeding operations produce horses for the track, steeple chasing and other events. Major annual events in Fauquier include: the Virginia Gold Cup in May, the Upperville Horse Show in June, the Warrenton Pony Show in September, the International Gold Cup in October and Steeplechase Races in the spring and fall.

Old Town Warrenton

Old Jail Museum

Two buildings (1808, 1823) house Civil War, Revolutionary era, Indian artifacts and Colonel John S. Mosby exhibits. One of the oldest remaining jails in VA. Open year round, Tues-Sun, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Rappahannock River
One of the state's cleanest waterways, flows along the entire western border of the county, providing fishing and canoeing opportunities.

Virginia Civil War Trails

Warrenton Spring Festival

The Warrenton Spring Festival, held annually on the third Saturday in May, continues to grow and attract a wide variety of  visitors. Event planners work all year to improve the event each year.  The only thing left to do is pray for dry weather.

So make your plans now...mark your calendars...and come and take in one of the true treasures of our town.

Annual Warrenton-Fauquier Heritage Day

On September 27, 2008, from 10am to 4:30pm, Warrenton's Main Street will come alive with history.  This day long celebration sponsored by the Town of Warrenton and Fauquier County will be filled with living historians, lectures, reenactments, tours, entertainment and hands-on demonstrations.  At 11am a living history parade is scheduled to begin.  Local heritage, civic, and service organizations are invited to parade or ride a themed float pass a Grand Review.  To register contact Paula Johnson at (540) 341-7019 or email pauladrdr@aol.com.  Volunteers are welcome. 

Join the festivities, as we remember 249 years of Warrenton and Fauquier heritage and celebrate our national designation as a "Preserve America" Community.
