The Department of Economic Development seeks to strengthen the Town of Warrenton's economic base through business development and tourism promotion. This includes acting as a central point of contact for businesses that are looking to locate, expand or start a business. Additionally, the department promotes the Town of Warrenton to visitors looking for a respite from the hustle and bustle of DC, as well as, locals looking to discover or reconnect with all that Warrenton has to offer.

Tom Wisemiller has served as the Economic Development Manager for the Town of Warrenton since July 2017.  Tom has a Masters Degree in Regional Planning from Cornell University and a Bachelors Degree in American History from Ohio State.  He was formerly Senior Economic Developer with the City of Greenville, NC, where he served for 12 years.  Tom's service to Greenville, a mid-size North Carolina city and home to East Carolina University, began with a focus on long-range land use planning, historic preservation, and downtown revitalization.

Please visit the Visitors section of this site for information on attractions, events, and parks.
