STREET CLOSURE ALERT #1
In preparation of the 2nd Phase of the Main Street "Bumpouts", Main Street will be closed between 5th Street and 6th Street beginning Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Road closures will be in place by 7:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. daily until the work is completed. We apologize for the inconvenience.


STREET CLOSURE ALERT #2
Construction of the Falmouth-Shirley Avenue Mini-Roundabout will begin on September 24, 2018 with a scheduled completion by Thanksgiving. Portions of the intersection will be closed to facilitate the construction. The project will be constructed in phases with Traffic Management Plans established for each phase. The initial phase of construction involves the demolition and reconstruction of the Falmouth Street side of the intersection with the following traffic conditions in effect:

 - Falmouth Street at the Intersection will be closed to traffic.
 - Two-Way traffic will be maintained on Shirley Avenue.
 - Speed limit in the construction zone is reduced to 25 mph.
 - Be alert to caution and traffic diversion signage.



Street Closures for Wednesday, September 19, 2018:
Payne's Parking Design will be striping the asphalt on Haiti Street beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. The work is scheduled to be completed by noon. Please use caution in this area, or avoid if possible.

 Street Closures for Upcoming Special Events:

First Fridays - May 4, 2018 through October 5, 2018 - 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm (Road Closures to begin @ 4:00 pm)

Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic, but open to pedestrians, at Fifth Street west bound to include Courthouse Square to the intersection of Main Street and Ashby Street (Ashby Street will remain open to traffic). Road closures will be in place at 4:00 P.M. Streets will open to traffic at the discretion of police personnel at the event’s conclusion.

Public works will provide and remove all necessary cones and road closure signs for the event, along with the placement of orange “NO PARKING after 4:00 P.M. no later than 9:00 A.M on the day of the event.                            

 

Bodies in Motion 5k/10k September 16, 2018 - 8:00 am -12:00 pm
Participants will leave the parking lot of the WARF and turn right onto Waterloo Road. The participants will then proceed left onto Piedmont Street and follow a designated course for each event through residential streets in and around the Olde Gold Cup Subdivision and back to the WARF.

Fauquier High School Homecoming Parade September 28, 2018 - 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The parade will line up on Main Street at Fifth Street beginning at 4:15 p.m. and commence at 5:00 p.m. The parade will proceed west on Main Street, continuing onto Waterloo Street, cross Broadview Avenue onto Frost Avenue, turn right onto Rappahannock Street, then left onto Waterloo Road and conclude at Fauquier High School. Once the parade begins and the participants go beyond Fifth Street, the closure will be adjusted to Main Street at Fifth Street allowing North and South Fifth Street to be open to traffic.  The adjusted road closure will remain in place until the parade passes Ashby Street and then Main Street will be opened to traffic at the discretion of police personnel.

The Great Pumpkin Ride October 27, 2018 - 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
The 2018 Great Pumpkin Ride bicycle event, sponsored by the Fauquier Trails Coalition, has been scheduled for Saturday, October 27, 2018 on the Warrenton Branch Greenway. The event is expected to draw approximately 1,350 participants. The event will begin on South Fourth Street at the Warrenton Branch Greenway at 7:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m. Participants will ride the Greenway to Falmouth Street, cross Falmouth Street,  and continue to Meetze Road beyond the corporate limits of the Town. South Fourth Street between Lee Street and the Warrenton Branch Greenway will be closed to vehicles but will remain open to pedestrians. Municipal Lot G be reserved for the event's post activities. Participants will be directed by the sponsor to the Warrenton Horse Show Grounds for additional event parking.

Annual Halloween HappyFest Parade October 28, 2018 - 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The Warrenton Town Council will host the 2018 Annual Halloween HappyFest Parade In Old Town on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Parade Line-up will begin at 1:45 P.M. at Main & Fifth Street proceeding east on Main to Sixth Street and ending at Fauquier Bank Plaza near the intersection of Main Street and Alexandria Pike. The road closures for the parade staging area, between Fifth and Sixth Street on Main Street, will begin at 1:30 pm and will re-open after the parade begins and the participants clear from the intersection of Fifth Street and Main Street. The remaining closures will be in place until the conclusion of the event and clean-up has been completed.

2018 Gobble Gobble Run or Wobble 5K November 17, 2018 - 8:00 am - 9:30 am
Saint James' Episcopal Church and School is sponsoring the "Gobble Gobble Run or Wobble 5K" on Saturday, November 17, 2018. A 5K run will take place at 8:00 a.m. and a Kids Dash run will take place at approximately 8:30 a.m. Both races will start on Main Street in front of the Fauquier General District Court. The 5K will proceed to a designated course through Old Town Warrenton. The Kids Dash run will be for a short distance along Main Street. The entire event will require Road Closures remain in place until the conclusion of the race.

Hops and Vines Festival June 8, 2019 - 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
The first annual Hops and Vines Festival event is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This 21 and over event will be a beer and wine festival that includes music and food trucks, involves up to 30 vendors, and is expected to attract up to 1,000 participants. Three food trucks will be parked on Hotel, Court, and Culpeper Streets with breweries and wineries dispersed along those streets and on the Warren Green lawn. Tickets will be sold that allow each participant a finite and specific number of alcohol tastings. Once that number is reached no further alcohol can be consumed. Identification checks will be performed on all participants to make sure they are at least 21 and wrist bands will be issued to ensure compliance.
