The selection process takes approximately two to four months after the initial Police Officer application has been received. Applicants must successfully complete the following phases:
- Online application submission
- Written examination
- Physical fitness test
- Panel interview
- Chief of Police review
- Polygraph examination
- Background investigation
- Physical examination
- Psychological examination
- Final approval by Chief of Police
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be 21 years of age upon completion of the Criminal Justice Academy
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license at the time of appointment
- Must not have been convicted of any felony or serious misdemeanor
